Our Benificiary for 2007:

Divergence Movie Night

Divergence Movie Night is monthly not-for-profit event aimed to show underground GLBTTQ-related cinema.

Every month in Ottawa, they bring a new queer documentary and show it for free, all by donation and through community support. Each movie is followed by an optional discussion group where people can talk about the issues, ask questions, and delve further in to the topics presented.

With movies delving in to race issues, BDSM, transsexuality, queer life around the world, queer history, LGBT families, youth, androgyny, femmes, drag and so much more, Divergence Movie Night is committed to exploring the infinite expanse of the queer universe and making it accessible to all communities.

With a recent expansion to Montreal and their eyes on cities like Toronto and Peterborough, Divergence Movie Night is a community-minded outreach model that touches on cutting edge and core issues. Ladyfest Ottawa is proud to have selected Divergence Movie Night their 2007 beneficiary! Ladyfest Ottawa will be selling 50/50 tickets during all or our events with all profits going to Divergence Movie Night!
