

The not-so-secret ingredient to Ladyfest Ottawa’s success: its volunteers. Dedicated and multi-talented, our volunteers work tirelessly to make each LFO event notable. Want to know how to become a valued member of this quirky crew? Here’s how:

The LFO steering committee comprises a core group of multi-disciplinary volunteers that organize all aspects of the festival. The steering committee branches out in to a wide range of sub-committees:
We meet and organize events (craft sales, film nights, etc.) sporadically year-round, however we begin concentrating on the festival about 6-8 months before it is launched. On average, steering committee members contribute 5-10 hours of their time a month. Volunteer hours increase significantly close to and during the festival.
LFO understands that time is not always on your side. Luckily, there is never a shortage of jobs –big or small, we can always use extra sets of hands to: poster, poster, poster !
During the festival we need people to: help set-up and tear-down, work as security guards, be a runner, stage manage, and more.
